The grand opening of "When Shaolin Meets Bokator at Angkor" at the iconic Bayon Temple in Siem Reap province's Angkor Archaeological Park marks a significant milestone in Cambodian-Chinese relations. Minister of Tourism Sok Soken described the event as more than a display of cultural heritage; it's a strategic move reinforcing the "Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2024".

The event, attended by high-ranking officials from both countries, underscores the profound cultural and diplomatic ties shared between Cambodia and China. Soken emphasized the event's alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative and the importance of cultural exchanges in strengthening socio-economic bonds.

Highlighting Cambodia's readiness to cater to Chinese tourists, Soken outlined ongoing efforts to improve hospitality services and infrastructure. The event also served as an outlet for expressing gratitude towards provincial administrations for their collaboration.

Cambodia's ambitious tourism strategy aims to bolster its global standing through efficient management, enhanced promotion, and improved infrastructure. Chhay Sivlin, president of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents, noted a surge in foreign arrivals since the start of 2024, with further growth anticipated.
