Residents highlight the area's primary attractions, including bird flock viewing, visits to floating houses, and browsing through souvenir shops offering goods crafted by local artisans. However, challenges persist, with tourists opting for shorter boat rides from Siem Reap over the lengthier journey from Battambang, impacting local businesses.

Boat service prices vary, but despite the scenic offerings, there has been a decline in souvenir purchases, affecting local artisans. Despite this, the area saw a consistent interest from visitors during the recent Khmer New Year period, suggesting a steady trend in tourism.

Ham Arun, Deputy Director of Tourism in Battambang Province, noted that while visitor numbers from Battambang were lower due to travel time, overall, the trend to Tonle Sap Lake remains steady, with a slight increase compared to last year.
