Cambodia’s Key Industries Chart Growth Path for 2025

Tourism, healthcare, energy, and manufacturing leaders outline challenges and opportunities
The International Business Chamber of Cambodia’s annual open meeting on January 15, 2025, gathered industry leaders to discuss the country’s economic outlook. Tourism has rebounded, with arrivals surpassing pre-pandemic levels by 4 percent, but only 1.4 million of the projected 6.7 million visitors engaged with major attractions like Angkor Wat. Industry experts highlighted the need for better infrastructure use, streamlined processes, and strategic marketing, with potential growth in ecotourism and wellness tourism targeting new markets such as the Middle East and India.

In healthcare, private sector growth is being driven by uneven access to quality care, especially in rural areas. Pauline Tan of The Sing-Specialists Medical Centre emphasized the role of digital health solutions like telemedicine and electronic medical records to improve efficiency. Meanwhile, Cambodia’s energy sector is shifting towards clean energy, aiming for 70 percent renewable energy by 2030, with major investments in solar and electric vehicle production, according to TotalEnergies Cambodia.

Manufacturing faces global supply chain disruptions and domestic labor shortages, but opportunities lie in diversifying supply chains and investing in workforce development. Devin Barta of AHF Products highlighted the importance of adapting to global trends, while the fast-moving consumer goods sector is embracing responsible advertising and meeting the rising demand for health-conscious products. Industry leaders stressed the importance of innovation, sustainability, and public-private partnerships for Cambodia’s growth in 2025.
