Cambodia's Rising Appeal Highlighted by British Newspaper The Times

Described as a Hidden Gem with Pristine Beaches, Accessible Islands, and Warm Hospitality
Cambodia has earned glowing praise from *The Times*, a prominent British newspaper, for its growing appeal as a travel destination. Journalist Claudia Rowan described the country as a hidden gem, offering empty beaches, an energetic capital, and luxurious yet affordable accommodations.

Rowan highlighted the islands of Koh Ta Kiev and Koh Rong, describing Koh Ta Kiev as her "closest experience to living out a Robinson Crusoe fantasy." She compared Cambodia's islands to Thailand's Koh Samui and Koh Phi Phi before their rise to global fame, emphasizing their untouched beauty and tranquility.

The article also commended Cambodia's improved infrastructure, particularly the Chinese-funded expressway linking Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville, which has reduced travel time to the coast from six hours to three. Rowan noted that this development has made Cambodia's idyllic islands more accessible than ever.

Phnom Penh also received praise, with Rowan noting the warmth and charisma of its people, describing them as embodying "youthful, forward-looking zeal." She emphasized the country's "indefatigable optimism," a spirit she felt throughout her travels, from the bustling capital to the serene islands.

Rowan concluded her reflections by expressing a deep desire to return, not just for Cambodia's natural beauty and cultural treasures, but for the infectious positivity of its people.
