Cambodia's Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are set to drive significant export growth and attract increased foreign investment in 2025. In the first eleven months of 2024, exports from sixteen active SEZs reached over five point four billion dollars, employing nearly one hundred eighty-four thousand workers across four hundred thirty-one factories and enterprises.

Key contributors include the Sihanoukville SEZ, with one point four nine billion dollars in exports, and the Royal Group Phnom Penh SEZ, which recorded one point zero eight billion dollars. Experts highlight SEZs’ appeal due to their robust infrastructure, streamlined procedures, and investor-friendly environment, making them ideal hubs for industrial production and international exports.

Looking ahead, industry leaders expect diversification in SEZ outputs, with growing interest in electronics, machinery, and advanced technology manufacturing. Plans are also underway to establish country-specific SEZs targeting investors from Japan, South Korea, and India, alongside green technology and digital sectors, signaling a new chapter in Cambodia’s industrial and economic development.
