The European Union (EU) has reiterated its commitment to supporting Cambodia’s socio-economic development through technical assistance and capacity-building programmes. This pledge focuses on addressing poverty reduction, healthcare, education, and climate change to foster inclusive and sustainable growth.

During a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, EU Ambassador Igor Driesmans highlighted the positive outcomes of the recent 12th EU-Cambodia Joint Committee held in Brussels. Discussions covered public financial management, industrial value chains, environmental sustainability, and regional cooperation within ASEAN.

Sokhonn expressed gratitude for the EU’s alignment with Cambodia’s Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I, which aims to drive the country towards upper-middle-income status by 2030 and high-income status by 2050. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued collaboration, with high-level engagements ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.
