Fourteen Indian citizens, who were coerced into participating in cybercrime operations in Cambodia, were recently rescued by Cambodian law enforcement authorities. This successful rescue operation followed specific leads provided by the Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh.

The Indian Embassy announced on July 20 that it has facilitated the rescue and repatriation of over 650 Indian citizens who had fallen victim to job scams in Cambodia. These scams lured individuals with fraudulent job offers, ultimately trapping them in illegal cybercrime activities. The rescued individuals are currently receiving care from an NGO working in coordination with Cambodia's Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation.

The Embassy emphasized its ongoing efforts to protect Indian nationals in Cambodia and urged caution regarding job offers in the country. They are working closely with Cambodian authorities to ensure the safe and timely repatriation of the rescued individuals.
