South Korean Women Archers Dominate Olympics for 36 Years

The South Korean women's archery team won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, marking their 10th straight victory over 36 years. President Yoon Suk Yeol praised their determination. Their rigorous training and strong mindset enabled them to overcome pressure and fierce competition from China.
The South Korean women's archery team, comprising Lim Si-hyeon, Nam Su-hyeon, and Jeon Hun-young, triumphed over China in a shoot-off to win 5-4 at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The event took place at Les Invalides in Paris. President Yoon Suk Yeol lauded the team, noting their victory despite having no prior Olympic experience.

This win marks 36 consecutive years of dominance, equaling the US men's 400m medley relay swimming team for most consecutive wins in a specific event.

The South Korean women’s team has faced tough competition, notably from China, and had to prepare meticulously, including training in diverse conditions and against an emotionless robot.

Lim Si-hyeon acknowledged the pressure but maintained a positive mindset, contributing to their success.

As of Day 3 of the Paris Games, South Korea has claimed three gold medals across shooting, fencing, and archery.
