Prime Minister Hun Manet Urges Public Service Officials to Prioritize Citizens' Needs

Emphasizes Civil Servants’ Role as Servants of the Citizens
Prime Minister Hun Manet reminded public service officials that civil servants are the servants of the citizens. Speaking on Monday morning, June 10, at the closing of the 2023 and opening of the 2024 training courses of the Royal School of Administration in Phnom Penh, he underscored the importance of providing stable and reliable public services.

“Nobody wants the headaches of negotiations or the uncertainty of receiving public services. Therefore, we must provide stable and reliable public services, offering opportunities to all users, including ourselves and our families,” said Hun Manet. “We are servants of the citizens, not their bosses. We serve the citizens as we serve ourselves, because each of us is also a citizen.”

He continued, “We must work together to build a more efficient and stable environment for accessing public services, both now and in the future. It is the duty of every official to participate in this effort.”

Hun Manet also advised public service officers to consistently improve the public service environment for the citizens, create positive outcomes for society, and reduce negativity.
