Prime Minister Issues Warning Against Mondulkiri Land Brokers
Prime Minister Hun Manet has warned against fraudulent land brokers in Mondulkiri province, who are deceiving citizens with fake promises of social land concessions. He stressed that registrations should adhere to state mechanisms and local authorities, and any suspected cases should be reported for legal action. The Mondulkiri provincial administration is investigating and will take action to prevent further scams.
Prime Minister Hun Manet has cautioned the public about deceptive land brokers in Mondulkiri province, urging citizens not to be misled into registering for social land concessions through illegitimate means.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the O'Te Thipadei, Sen Sokdom, and Sen Monorom projects on October 24, Manet highlighted that these brokers are falsely promising land in Pech Chreada district in exchange for deposits.
He emphasized that any legitimate registration for social land concessions must be conducted through official state mechanisms and local authorities.
Authorities in Mondulkiri revealed that these scammers are targeting citizens with fake promises of residential and agricultural land in Valyong village.
There is currently only one legitimate social land concession in Koh Nhek district meant for poor and landless citizens, and applications must be processed through local authorities.
Neang Vannak, head of the provincial administration, announced the formation of a task force to investigate and take legal action against those responsible for such fraudulent schemes.
