The teenage son of a secretary to the Chaiyaphum mayor, who was recently abducted from his university dormitory in Pathum Thani, Thailand, has been safely returned to his home country. The 17-year-old was reportedly taken across the border and held captive in an unknown location in Cambodia, sparking urgent actions by Thai authorities.

The boy's father, Chaitawat Keeratirat, reported the abduction to the Muang Chaiyaphum police. According to Chaitawat, his son managed to contact him through the Line messaging app, stating he was held by kidnappers in Cambodia, but he was uncertain of his precise location. The distressing situation led to a swift response from Thai law enforcement agencies, coordinating with their Cambodian counterparts to track down and rescue the teenager.

The operation underscores the ongoing issues surrounding cross-border crimes in the region, including human trafficking and ransom kidnappings often linked to scam operations.
