Cathay Pacific Apologizes After Technical Issues Leave Passengers on Bangkok-Bound Flight Without Air Conditioning

Flight CX705 from Hong Kong to Bangkok faced significant delays due to technical failures, prompting customer complaints and concerns over the same aircraft's previous issues.
Cathay Pacific Airways has issued an apology to passengers of flight CX705, which was delayed after a technical issue left them stranded on the aircraft without air conditioning.

The flight, scheduled to depart from Hong Kong to Bangkok at 8 AM local time on Thursday, encountered a malfunction during boarding that affected the cabin's air conditioning system.

Passengers reported being trapped on the plane for over an hour in high temperatures, which reached 35 degrees Celsius at Chek Lap Kok Airport on the day of the incident.

Following the technical difficulties, the airline arranged for a replacement aircraft, which ultimately took off at 10:48 AM on the same day.

In response to the situation, Cathay Pacific provided eligible passengers and those requiring special assistance access to its airport lounge, while economy class travelers were offered meal vouchers.

The airline emphasized its commitment to safety and extended sincere apologies to those affected, though it did not specify the duration of the wait experienced by passengers.

Concerns have been raised on social media platforms regarding the reliability of the aircraft involved, as some users claimed that it had faced technical difficulties multiple times earlier in the week.

Specifically, one user noted that the same aircraft, registered as B-LAE, had been unable to complete scheduled flights to Urumqi and Denpasar earlier due to mechanical issues.

However, Cathay Pacific did not confirm or deny queries about whether this was the third instance of technical difficulties for the same aircraft within that week.
