The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is intensifying efforts to combat illicit trade in Southeast Asia through the Border Liaison Office (BLO) network. This initiative connects frontline law enforcement agencies from key border towns, such as Bavet in Cambodia, with counterparts across the region to detect, intercept, and neutralize threats at the borders.

The BLO network facilitates real-time information sharing and joint operations, significantly enhancing the capacity of border agencies to tackle transnational organized crime. By fostering cooperation among national law enforcement agencies, the BLOs play a crucial role in dismantling criminal networks and reducing the movement of illicit goods across borders.

Through these collaborative efforts, UNODC aims to strengthen border management, improve intelligence sharing, and enhance the operational capabilities of law enforcement agencies in Southeast Asia.
