Vietnam Tragic Aftermath of Typhoon Yagi

Vietnam has been severely affected by Typhoon Yagi, with 46 confirmed dead and 22 still missing. The storm and subsequent floods and landslides have primarily impacted the provinces of Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Hai Duong, leading to widespread power outages.
Typhoon Yagi has claimed 46 lives in Vietnam, with 22 people still missing.

Initially, nine people died when the storm made landfall on Saturday.

The subsequent floods and landslides resulted in 53 and six deaths respectively, as reported by the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The hardest hit provinces include Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Hai Duong.

Rising river levels in the north, particularly Thao River, Lo River, Cau River, Thuong River, Thai Binh, and Red River, have severely impacted multiple areas.

Many regions, including cities like Yen Bai and Ha Giang, are experiencing significant flooding.

The State utility company has been forced to shut down power supplies for safety in several mountainous provinces, primarily Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, and Lao Cai.
