The Ministry of Environment has reaffirmed its commitment to achieving a cleaner, greener Cambodia by implementing the Euro V fuel standard, marking a significant step towards carbon neutrality by 2050. During a meeting on December 20, 2024, Minister of Environment Dr. Eang Sophallet praised oil companies for their role in reducing pollution and enhancing air quality across the country.

Dr. Eang highlighted Cambodia's five strategic goals, including sustained economic growth, job creation, poverty reduction, governance improvements, and climate resilience. These objectives aim to balance socio-economic development with environmental sustainability, ensuring long-term benefits for both citizens and ecosystems.

The partnership between the Ministry and the petroleum sector plays a crucial role in reducing air pollutant emissions, supporting Cambodia’s vision of becoming a carbon-neutral nation by mid-century.
