Speaking at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2024 in Vientiane, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet outlined Cambodia’s emergence as a key investment hub in Southeast Asia. He pointed to the country’s $7.5 billion foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow from September 2023 to September 2024, representing a 161 percent increase from the previous year, as a sign of strong international confidence in Cambodia’s economy.

Hun Manet attributed this success to pro-business policies, strategic location, skilled workforce, and the allowance of 100 percent foreign ownership in most sectors. New investment laws and incentives, alongside significant infrastructure projects, further enhance Cambodia's attractiveness. He also emphasized the benefits of ASEAN regional cooperation and free trade agreements with China, South Korea, and the UAE.
