The Ministry of Interior has successfully distributed more than 9,000 free Cambodian identity cards to citizens nationwide within just one week, from September 1 to 7, 2024. Dr. Touch Sokhak, Deputy Spokesman for the Ministry, confirmed this achievement, highlighting the efficient work of identification officers across the country. Both fixed locations and mobile units were utilized to ensure easy access and swift distribution.

In addition to identity cards, the Ministry provided over 20,000 identification services during the same period, including issuing passports, residence books, family books, and travel documents. Prime Minister Hun Sen has called for further improvements in service quality, instructing the General Department of Identification to explore innovative solutions like one-stop-shop services to enhance convenience for the public.
