At a February 6 meeting, Deputy Governor Hun Sorithy emphasized the need for landlords, hotels, and guesthouses to report foreign tenants using the FPCS system, which tracks foreigner accommodation across Cambodia.

The measure aims to prevent illegal activities such as online fraud and human trafficking. Business owners must also maintain clear contracts detailing the number of foreign tenants and their length of stay. Failure to comply may result in legal action.

Human rights groups support the initiative but stress the importance of ensuring that monitoring does not violate foreigners' rights. Authorities say the move is part of broader efforts to maintain security and uphold Cambodia’s immigration laws.
