Vietnam has brought back 177 citizens from Cambodia, including two suspected criminals, after they were discovered involved in illegal labor and residency. Authorities in Tay Ninh, working together with local police, welcomed the group at the Moc Bai International Border Gate. The Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia assisted in their return, which included 19 women and 158 men.

Among those repatriated, 48 had left Vietnam legally, while 129 had crossed the border unlawfully. The majority were linked to online scams in Svay Rieng province, working for groups related to fraudulent investment schemes, online gambling, and romance scams. Only one person was found to be employed outside these activities.

Investigators are now looking into 30 individuals suspected of fraud, human trafficking, and other offenses. Among the repatriated, two were wanted by police in Ho Chi Minh City—one for engaging in sexual relations with a minor and another for theft. Border guards and police are continuing to investigate the case to uncover any additional criminal ties.
