Chinese Citizens Taken Off Flight at Kuala Lumpur International Airport

An incident with a couple considered to be displaying erratic behavior results in a medical assessment.
Two Chinese citizens were removed from a flight at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) just prior to its scheduled departure to Jieyang, China.

As reported by the police, the incident took place on February 10 when security personnel stepped in due to the erratic behavior of a female passenger, who was described as having "acted insane" and created a disturbance among fellow travelers.

Azman Shariat, the officer in charge of the police district (OCPD) in Kuala Lumpur, noted that the couple's noncompliance with security officers intensified the situation.

As a result, both individuals were escorted off the plane by officers.

To address the situation, health officials were called to the scene.

They administered sedatives to the couple, who were later taken to Sultan Idris Shah Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation due to concerns regarding their mental wellbeing.

"Because of their behavior, the police requested support from the Health Ministry officials. After an initial assessment, both were sedated and taken to Hospital Sultan Idris Shah in Serdang for further evaluation," Mr. Shariat stated.

As of the most recent updates, no arrests have been made related to this incident, and preliminary tests showed that the couple tested negative for drugs.

They are currently under medical observation while further assessments are conducted.

The specific flight they were to take remains unknown.

This event coincides with reports of another Chinese couple who have gone missing while traveling to Malaysia.

Local news outlets reported that this couple was anticipated to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Jieyang before heading to Nanjing on February 9, but family members have raised concerns since their mobile phones are turned off and flight records have not confirmed their boarding.

The connection, if any, between these two situations remains unclear.
