On November 8, 2024, Peng Dan, President of the Institute of International Economic Strategy, led a delegation of top business leaders from Henan and Shenzhen to meet with the Secretariat of the Preah Sihanouk Multi-Purpose Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ) Master Plan. The group discussed Cambodia’s appeal as an investment hub amid changing trade dynamics, with Peng highlighting the benefits of diversifying production outside China.

During the meeting, Secretariat Director His Excellency Chea Kok Hong outlined the MPSEZ’s plan to transform Sihanoukville into a logistics, tourism, and industry hub, backed by infrastructure improvements and incentives for foreign businesses. This strategy aims to bolster China-Cambodia ties and support shared economic growth through sustainable investments in Preah Sihanouk Province.
