Laos and Cambodia’s technical border committees have committed to advancing their shared border demarcation efforts after a meeting on November 7 in Siem Reap, Cambodia, according to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Chaired by Lao Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, the meeting saw officials adopt documents covering 80 percent of the border to be surveyed and discussed a 2025 action plan.

The committees agreed to direct surveys, install additional markers, and continue discussions on disputed areas. The meeting reportedly took place in a friendly and cooperative atmosphere.
