Prime Minister Hun Manet Inaugurates Techo Santepheap Road in Kep Province

New 12-kilometer road aims to boost tourism and improve accessibility in coastal region
Today, Prime Minister Hun Manet inaugurated the Techo Santepheap Road, a 12-kilometer route along Angkol Beach in Kep Province. Valued at over ten million dollars, this infrastructure project seeks to strengthen the local tourism sector by enhancing connectivity within the region.

The road, funded through a concessional loan from the Asian Development Bank and supported by the Cambodian government, links Kep City with Angkol Commune and connects to Provincial Road No. 1332, improving access to Kampot Province. Minister of Public Works and Transport Peng Po Na highlighted the project’s significance for the 6,000 families residing in the area, noting its positive impact on tourism and local business. The new road includes a car park, bike path, and sidewalks designed to elevate the tourist experience.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the importance of safety within tourism zones and outlined his government’s infrastructure achievements over the past 15 months. He also expressed gratitude to the ADB for its support in developing Cambodia’s key sectors, calling the road project a vital step in the economic growth of Kep and its coastal communities.
