Cambodia and China Reaffirm Strong Cooperation Across Various Sectors

Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chinese Official Wang Yi Emphasize Mutual Commitment to Bilateral Ties
Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering cooperation between their nations. During their meeting at the Peace Palace, they discussed various areas of collaboration, highlighting the importance of existing partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

Mr. Wang Yi expressed China's continued support for Cambodia and stressed the significance of building a Cambodia-China Community of Common Destiny. He commended Cambodia's growing role on the international stage and underscored the strong friendship shared between the two countries. Additionally, he reiterated China's commitment to facilitating key infrastructure projects like the Fish and Rice Corridor and the Industrial and Technological Corridor.

Prime Minister Hun Manet lauded the fruitful cooperation between Cambodia and China, particularly emphasizing the positive impact of initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on Cambodia's socio-economic development. He highlighted the success of the diamond cooperation framework and expressed optimism about increasing investment and tourism from China.

Looking ahead, PM Hun Manet proposed exploring further collaboration, including the establishment of a Cambodia-China Free Trade Area and the development of more special economic zones, to enhance bilateral ties and drive mutual prosperity.
