Vietnamese leaders have conveyed warm New Year greetings to senior leaders of Laos and Cambodia on the occasion of their respective Bun Pi May and Chol Chnam Thmay festivals.

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan extended congratulations to Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni and Lao Vice Presidents Pany Yathotou and Bounthong Chitmany through a congratulatory letter and floral arrangement.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also reached out with well wishes to his counterparts in Laos and Cambodia, Sonexay Siphandone and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, respectively.

Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue conveyed similar sentiments to Lao National Assembly President Xaysomphone Phomvihane and Cambodian Senate President Samdech Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, along with Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Moha Rotsaphea Thipadei Khuon Sudary.

In their messages to Lao leaders, Vietnamese leaders emphasized the significant progress in bilateral ties, expressing confidence in Laos's leadership and endorsing its upcoming roles as Chair of ASEAN and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

For Cambodia, the Vietnamese leaders praised the wise leadership of King Norodom Sihamoni, expressing hopes for continued peace, stability, and development. They also reiterated their commitment to strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia for mutual benefit and the prosperity of the ASEAN community.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son extended greetings to Lao Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith and Cambodian Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea on this auspicious occasion.
