A high-level delegation from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by President Thongloun Sisoulith and his spouse, has arrived in Phnom Penh for a two-day state visit in Cambodia. This visit, extended at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, signifies the enduring friendship between the two nations.

During the visit, President Thongloun Sisoulith will be granted a royal audience by His Majesty the King at the Royal Palace. He will also hold separate meetings with Cambodian leaders, including Hun Sen, President of the Senate; Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; and Hun Manet, the Prime Minister. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between Cambodia and Laos, as well as addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest.

As part of the visit, President Thongloun Sisoulith will pay respects at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of the late King-Father, His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk, underscoring the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations.

This state visit serves as a significant milestone in furthering the Comprehensive and Long-Lasting Strategic Partnership between Cambodia and Laos, fostering solidarity, and promoting mutual prosperity.
