Cambodia Deports Suspected Chinese Cyber Scammers in Joint Crackdown

First Batch of 700 Arrested Individuals Sent Back Amid Efforts to Curb Cybercrime
Cambodia has taken a significant step in curbing cybercrime by deporting the first batch of 700 suspected Chinese cyber scammers arrested in Sihanoukville after joint operations in March. The deportation, carried out in collaboration with Chinese law enforcement agencies, saw 130 individuals sent back through Phnom Penh Airport on April 13. The suspects, wearing blue vests and face masks, were escorted by Chinese police amid tight security measures. This marks a milestone in the joint efforts between Cambodia and China to crack down on gambling and fraud-related crimes.
