The National Bank of Cambodia has introduced new regulations requiring individuals and businesses engaged in crypto asset transactions, including trading, fund mobilization, and settlements, to obtain proper licensing from relevant authorities. Issued on December twenty-sixth, the directive warns that unauthorized activities may face legal penalties.

The central bank highlighted the risks of unregulated crypto operations, stressing the importance of compliance to safeguard financial stability. It also urged the public to avoid unauthorized crypto dealings and to report any suspicious activities.
