Cambodia and UAE Update Entry Requirements for Tourists
New e-Arrival Card system for Cambodia and financial proof for UAE visitors
Travelers planning trips to Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) need to be aware of new entry requirements recently announced by both countries.
Starting July 1, Cambodia will require all travelers to use an e-Arrival Card, replacing traditional paper documents for the immigration, health, and customs declaration forms. This new system is aimed at streamlining the arrival process but does not alter existing visa requirements. Travelers can apply for their e-Arrival Card via the official e-Arrival app available on Google Play and the iOS App Store, or through the government’s online portal, one week prior to their travel date.
In parallel, the UAE has introduced stricter entry requirements for tourists to curb the misuse of tourist visas by jobseekers. Effective immediately, tourists will need to provide proof of sufficient funds, detailed accommodation information, and a return air ticket upon entry. Specifically, tourists on a one-month visa must demonstrate access to at least Dh3,000 (or approximately R15,340), while those on a three-month visa need Dh5,000 (or around R25,567).
