The Tumring REDD+ Project has successfully registered eight community forests covering 12,984 hectares, reinforcing protection against illegal encroachment and forest crimes. A 27,508-meter artificial canal was also constructed to mark and safeguard these areas, now legally certified and clearly signposted under Cambodia’s forestry laws.

Spanning 67,791 hectares in Kampong Thom province, the Tumring REDD+ Project, a partnership between Cambodia and South Korea, aims to reduce annual carbon emissions by 378,434 tonnes. In 2024, enforcement teams confiscated illegal logging equipment, reclaimed nearly 2,000 hectares of forest land, and dismantled charcoal kilns, while supporting communities with biogas stoves and sustainable resin trade.

Ongoing efforts include further forest registrations, reforestation projects, and stronger enforcement of conservation laws to secure the region’s natural resources and improve local livelihoods.
