Yale School of Public Health Partners with Cambodia to Develop Health Economics Program

Building Bridges for Affordable Healthcare
The Yale School of Public Health is embarking on a collaborative venture with Cambodia to introduce a new track of study within the Masters of Public Health (MPH) program. In partnership with Cambodia’s National Institute of Public Health (NIPH), professors from Yale, Harvard, Hong Kong University, and the National University of Singapore will travel to Cambodia to provide training in health economics and financing.

This initiative, supported by a grant from the Chinese Medical Board, aims to address Cambodia’s pressing healthcare needs by equipping students with essential skills in health economics. With an emphasis on making informed decisions with limited resources, the Health Economics and Financing program (MPH-HEF) will offer specialized courses to empower students to analyze healthcare systems and develop strategies for universal coverage.

While the Yale School of Public Health spearheads this endeavor, the ultimate goal is to foster self-sufficiency and empower Cambodian institutions to lead in healthcare education. By building a robust infrastructure for teaching and learning, the program seeks to cultivate a new generation of public health professionals who will shape policy and drive positive change in Cambodia’s healthcare landscape.
